Effective Remote Demonstrations Top 10 Mistakes to Avoid

Friday, October 30th, 2009

In today’s face past world, learning and development is being generated at a much faster pace than it was 10 years ago. Organizations are growing and the need to reach out to employees, clients and potential prospects has become very challenging.  In today’s culture, we can rely on software to make our lives easier to ensure we can communicate effectively.   Software like WebEx, Adobe Connect Pro, Go To Meeting and other companies are pushing the boundaries of  remote communication.  These vendors and their innovative tools are providing users with the opportunity to take control and become more  creative with our own communication by adopting  multi-faceted tools.

These systems allow us to share:

  • Videos
  • Podcasts
  • Desktops to sample a product
  • View live meetings
  • Participate in and view live demonstrations
  • Collaborate on a project
  • and much much more

While participating in these events we have developed a certain online etiquette and it has become a very important  part of this new online community.  Not following certain rules can lead to disastrous consequences,  it can cost us relationships, potential clients and completely make us lose  all credibility.

How do we know we are doing the right thing?

To help us get through this topic, I created an e-learning module “The 5 Minute Coach”  with the topic  ” Top 10 Remote Demonstration Mistakes Made by the Presenter” . This is a list of what NOT TO  DO while you present or conduct a product demonstration.
